Lincoln Community,
We have officially completed our first month of school and it feels like a big success! I am seeing more smiling faces in school and feeling excitement in the air.
We definitely want to continue this momentum and ensure that students feel like they belong! One way we plan to do that is by opening our PBIS store at the end of this month. If you attended our community campus night, you might have heard us talking about Lincoln Bucks. Students who are engaging in positive behaviors and following our HOWLs: Respect, Responsibility and Perseverance, receive positive verbal feedback from our educators and also receive Lincoln Bucks to spend at our PBIS store. You can read more about our HOWLs here and how they are graded. Please make sure to talk to your student about this important part of their grade and how they can continue to ensure they are doing their best with these HOWLs.
Another really important part of our work with students involves restoratively processing behaviors that are not in aligned with our HOWLs and that can cause harm to the community. Of course, different behaviors call for different responses and we have outlined them all on our Progressive Response Protocol. Please take the time to read this and familiarize yourself with it.
In the last newsletter, I mentioned that we are investing in meaningful experiences for our kids, alongside our community partner, Rippleffect. We are still finalizing details for those important trips and will send more information as soon as that is complete! My ask of families is to contribute $10 for their student this year to help cover the Rippleffect trip costs. Any additional donation is always welcome and will benefit Lincoln Students!
Lastly, on November 8th and 9th, we will be hosting family conferences, which is right around the corner. Now is a good time to log onto Infinite Campus to review your students' grades and community with their teachers as needed.
Onward!
In Partnership,
Principal Ayala
Belong. Become. Be Proud.

Progressive Response Protocol: Families, please read our Progressive Response Protocol. All the PPS Middle Schools are following this policy starting this year. We want to make sure you are aware of responses we plan to have for typical and atypical behaviors that can occur in our schools.
Locker Project: This is one of our community partners that helps provide nourishing food to students and families. We know that students need healthy food to learn, for their health and for their future. Please reach out to Kathy Randall, our social worker, if you find you or your family in need of assistance.
