Roaring Report - April 11, 2025

Dear Lincoln Middle School Community,

Spring is upon us! We have had such a great school year so far. We have all invested so much in each of our students and now we are seeing how much they are growing.

Here are updates for you:

Grades & Conferences

Conferences were a success! We had great turn out and I was really happy to see families, students, and educators all getting together to discuss. We have one trimester, so lets continue working together to ensure that students are being supported and striving to achieve their academic goals.

State Assessments

We have our state assessment, Maine Through Year, coming up on Thursday, May 22nd and Friday, May 23rd. It will be really important to students to get a full night's sleep and eat a nutritious breakfast to be ready for the assessment. If you have any questions about this assessment, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or our instructional coach, Ms. Frederick.

Spring Events

There are many spring events taking place! While we will communicate them as we get closer to the dates, I want to bring your attention to Culture Week, which will take place during the week of May 5-9. On May 7th, we will have World Community Arts Day. If you are interested in running a workshop for our students, please connect with our Culture and Climate Coordinator Ms. Thibodeau at thibob@portlandschools.org.

Sports

Congratulations to our Basketball, Wrestling, Indoor Track, Swimming and Unified Basketball teams for an awesome Winter season! You all rocked it. Also, thank you to our coaches and supportive families throughout the season.

Please reach out to the coaches for any questions you may have. Some teams may have practice dates during April break. Students:
Be mindful that participation in extracurricular activities is contingent on being a responsible student in our school. Student-Athletes, please remember that if there are any infractions, this can impact your participation in practices and/or games.
