Newsletter - December 12, 2022

Lincoln Families,

We are getting closer to the end of 2022. This year, our Lincoln community has felt the pain of transitions and growth and now we are beginning to see glimmers of successes!

I’d like to show you our Fall student survey data (percentages in parentheses are from last year):

I feel safe at school.

Teachers treat me with respect.

I am recognized for my positive behavior.

I have at least one adult I can talk to.

Lincoln

74.6% (61%)

82.6% (81)

83.9% (45%)

76.4% (69%)

While our goal is that the percentages reach 100%, as you can see, across the board, our students have shown more trust in us as a community of adults. I am thankful and honored to witness the changes that are taking place, the resilience of our community, and our collective efforts manifesting.

In addition to this, we are making pivots to our instructional strategy come January. Lincoln has been fortunate to receive funding that assures every learner in the building has access to Lexia, a high quality literacy program. All our learners will have the opportunity and support throughout the school week to engage and complete lessons based on their individual literacy needs. We believe that the integration of this program can increase our students’ self-efficacy in literacy, which will have a cascade of positive effects in other facets of their school life.

Thank you for all your support and trust in us this year. Let’s keep this work up!

Best,

Principal Ayala
