Don’t need food assistance? Please consider donating to the PPS Food Fund, which helps PPS families grappling with food insecurity, and/or the Families in Crisis Fund, which helps families with basic needs other than food.

Both are administered by the Foundation for Portland Public Schools (FPPS). The mission of FPPS is to raise philanthropic support to enhance educational opportunities for present and future students in Portland’s Public Schools. FPPS’ Vision is to strengthen schools through community investment.

Food Service Message to PPS Families:
Posted on 10/21/2020
This is the image for the news article titled Food Service Message to PPS Families:Did you know all school meals are FREE during this pandemic – for everyone! All you need to do to support this school meals program is to participate. Have your student bring home a lunch on the days they attend in-person school. On remote days, you can pick up breakfast and lunch at our meal sites. Enjoy!

Even though the meals are free this year, we could really use your help – by filling out your Free and Reduced Meal Application or Income Survey forms.  These forms help us show the demographics of the district and help us to qualify for grants, funding, and special programs. These numbers are used in many ways by the state and federal government to assign funding for many different programs and purposes. It could even mean an extra teacher in your school. If eligible families don’t fill out the forms, our free and reduced numbers won’t accurately reflect our community, and we risk losing access to valuable resources and programs.  So, please, complete these forms and help us to claim the support we need to provide the services that our community needs.

As a reminder, meal pick-up sites operate from 1-2 pm daily and are located at Casco Bay High School, Deering High School, Portland High School, and Talbot (formally Riverton) Elementary School.  Meals are available for FREE. Hope to see you there!

Congratulations Rose !
