Lincoln & King Odyssey of the Mind Students Make Regional, State, and World Finals
Odyssey of the Mind is an international educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college. Team members apply their creativity to solve problems that range from building mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretation of literary classics. They then bring their solutions to competition on the local, state, and World level. Thousands of teams from throughout the U.S. and from about 25 other countries participate in the program.
Two Odyssey of the Mind teams meet at Lincoln on a regular basis and both teams are composed of students from Lincoln and King Middle Schools. Both teams went to the Regional Odyssey of the Mind competition in early March and both advanced to the State competition on March 28th. One of the LMS teams won 3rd place-- congratulations to the 3rd place team members: Matthew Keast, Quincy Kern Johnson, Sabelle Guido, and Anna Troxell. The Division 2 Team took second place and has qualified for the World Finals May 20-23 at Michigan State University. Congratulations to River Dufour, Audrey Dufour, Alec Troxell, Will Jorgensen, and Tom Victor. The team will be holding some fundraisers in the form of yard sales, bottle drives, etc. to raise money to get there so be sure to support them and their efforts!
