Review:
The year is 1787. The war for America’s independence has been over for more then ten years. Ten years too early for 14 years old, Justin Conkey, to become a hero. But now it looks like he has another chance. The settlers of Massachusetts are getting fed up with the government they elected and it looks like theirs going to be trouble.
Justin's brother in-law Peter is in thick with the Regulators, an army that’s being formed by a man called Daniel Shays. General Shay (as they call him in the book) and Peter, along with several other men have begun to form the Regulators, a small army that they plan to use to challenge the government. Justin wants to be in on it to, so Peter and General Shay put him in to work with Major Mattoon, a high up, business man who is against the Regulators . So Justin becomes a spy for the Regulators working as a personal servant. But as things get thick  Mattoon begins to become suspicious of Justin, and Justin has to flee for his life.
After that Justin is determined to get in the fight. So finally Peter allows him to join the Regulators. He meets another boy just a few years older then him named Levi Bullock. He and Levi make a good friendship, and help each other out.
In one part of the story the Regulators make camp in Justin's home town , Pelam at that same time a blizzard was raging outside there was no chance of the enemy General Lincoln and his troops getting through at night through the blizzard , or so they thought, and they did not send out any sentries . That night they where awoken by shots, Lincoln's troops had gotten through after all.  Once more the Regulators where forced to run.
Another time, the Regulators had laid an ambush for the government troops but the enemy saw them before they could fire a shot and charged. Peter tripped, an enemy Soldier raised his bayonet to Sstab him and Justin couldn't let that happen.
If you enjoy adventure, historical fiction, heroism, and warfare, then this book was made for you.
