Review:
Think about a, long, street or highway with only you riding your motorcycle and the wind passing through your shoulders.  Suddenly you stop the tire, make a big noise with the road, and leave a long black skid mark.  It is eleven o'clock and it’s the time to have a big adventure in the best place on the world.  The first place you go is your diner.  Oh I almost forgot, you’ve get a very good nose, you can smell a little piece of butter from far a way, because you are a MOUSE.
“A MOUSE?”  Yes that is what you are in the book, Ralph S. Mouse by Beverly Clearly.  You are the smartest mouse ever.
In the story to not let any one touch Ralph’s lovely motorcycle, he moves in to a boy’s school.  The adventures start when he looks for food to eat and toys to play with.  Ralph slowly get bored.   His relatives won’t touch his motorcycle any more.  But imagine you are the only one who is in the dark, big school, and you are just as tall as a pencil.
One night Ralph came out of his smelly house, a big boot.  Suddenly the door opens, the light is on, and a man comes in.  Ralph quickly hides in a small corner.  It’s a keeper who cleans the class room.  After the keeper is gone, Ralph feels very hungry and he quickly runs out of the room.   He smells something that smells like vegetables.  Ralph runs about all the rooms.   Finally he found some paintings that were made by six graders, using pbeans.  Ralph eats some that are dropped on the ground.  He also found a jar of glue made by flour and cooked rice.  Ralph ate some of it.  Then he sees a very strange thing that is on all the teacher’s tables.  He slowly walks to the strange box.  Ralph put his front claws on it; it feels a little sticky.   It is nothing big, but when he tries to get his claws out, he notices that he is sticking to it.  When Ralph finally gets his claws out from the tape, it’s almost time for school.
If you really like adventures and you like small animals such as a cute little mouse, Ralph S. Mouse will be your best choice.
