Summary:
There once lived a pauper named Tom, living in a poor family. He was a beggar, and was expected to beg for his family. Things did not go over well after Tom came home with no money one day. The pauper has always wondered what it was like to be at the kingdom, or what it was like to be a prince. Tom decided to take a journey over to the kingdom just to see what it was like. When he reached his destination a soldier held him back, until Prince Edward let him in. They chatted for quite some time until they both came to a conclusion that they are twins. They had  the same hair, same eyes, same voice; not one thing different. So Prince Edward and Tom Canty switched lives because they each thought that their lives were worse than the others. They both realized how different their lives are. When Edward decided to go back to the kingdom the people of the kingdom were wondering why there were two princes.  The real prince had to prove to the people that he was the king, but did they believe him?

Review:
Wouldn't you love to do something you have always dreamed of but never have gotten the opportunity? Well, that's what Tom Canty got to do. He finally experienced what it was like to be a prince. He stayed at the kingdom and was pampered just like he imagined. Though this book is fiction, it is very realistic once you get into it.
Prince Edward goes through a lot in the pauper’s town, gets thrown in jail, and realizes how bad it is to be there. He met a sincere friend that had his back through his experience.  H had quite an adventure. Prince Edward realizes he is wrong, though he was bored with his life in the kingdom. The Pauper had it a lot worse than him.
The Prince and the Pauper has a great story line if you understand the vocabulary. It takes some extra time to look up the vocabulary that is not understandable. This book was very difficult, it had rich vocabulary and lots of old English. It was a very tough book to read, I prefer something you can go through and easily understand.
If you have ever dreamed about switching lives with someone you admire, if you dream about living in a kingdom, or wondered what it is like to live in a lower maintenance life style then read this book. If you are up for the challenge, then The Prince and the Pauper is a good book for you.
