Review:
You live in a small village next to a town. You have a wife,  a brother and a son who is about one. You and the villagers fish for clams and look for pearls when you fish. After your baby becomes poisoned you go to the town and ask for help but there are no doctors there so you decide to treat him yourself. You and your wife go out looking for  a pearl and you find what everyone in the village calls, ”the pearl of the world.”
In this book Kino and his wife must help their baby get well after being bitten by a scorpion. Then they find the pearl of the world.  By the time they get back to the village everyone already knew he had found the pearl of the world. The next day the word made it to the town that's next to the village. Later on  they find themselves fleeing the village after an accident. The town sent trackers after them to chase them down and maybe even kill them.
My favorite incident in The Pearl is when the trackers are resting right below the place were Kino and his family are hiding.  Will Kino stay there being silent and hope they go away? Or will he do something he might later on regret? After the trackers are gone the family  goes back to the village but there’s  someone who doesn’t  make it back there alive! Who doesn’t make it back?  Read the book and find out.
If you like a book that goes back in  time and is an action packed story, you should really read The Pearl by John Steinbeck.
