Summary: 
            The story Dragonwings is about a boy that lives in a village. The people in the village had to send some of their men to a place called Golden Mountain. The boy’s father was sent to a there. When some of the Tang man came back to the village, they were sick or badly hart. The boy decided to go to the Golden Mountain. When he got there, he saw his father waiting for him and his grandfather was there too. The boy’s father and grandfather owned a company.
            The people in the company had their own stories and one of the stories is that one of them told a personal story about why he is still in the Golden Mountain.

Review:  
            Think of yourself in China as a little boy and your father was gone from your village to a place filled with demons. Your father was at a place called Golden Mountain. The Golden Mountain had demons that hurt you and some that help you. The boy wanted to go to the place to see his father. In the story the boy got hurt. His father went to a place to fight the guy that hurt his son. The guy that hurt his son was Black Dog. They fought and the boy’s father killed him.
            The boy was called Moon Shadow. He is in a book called Dragonwings. The author of the book is Laurence Yep.
            The main character is called Moon Shadow. He is a boy that lives in a village. Moon Shadow likes to make kites like his father. Moon Shadow’s father is also a character in the story. Moon shadow’s father is called Windrider.  Windrider is a man that wants to one day fly an airplane. Windrider can fight with a sword. There is another character that I’d like to talk about and that person is called Lefty; he was once loved to gamble. But one day he gambled all the money he was using to get home and he lost all of it. So he broke his right hand and vowed never to gamble again.
            One day when Moon Shadow went to collect money, he saw Black Dog.   Black Dog talked to him about some things, then Moon Shadow ran off. Black Dog got to him, grabbed the money and beat up Moon Shadow. When Moon Shadow got home his father asked him who did this to him.   He said Black Dog did. That same night, Windrider went out to a place to fight a sword battle with Black Dog. Who ever lost the fight lost their life. In the sword fight Black Dog didn’t have a sword. Then someone from the crowd of people threw a sword down. Black Dog garbed the sword and strike Windrider. Each strike was to Windrider’s head. But Windrider dodged each strike like they were nothing. When Black Dog was tired Windrider struck the sword into Black Dog’s chest and killed him.
            If you like strange stories, you will enjoy this book. If you enjoy stories that involved strange creatures, demons, and dragons you’ll enjoy this big time. It is a little fun because you can read about the king of the dragons. Windrider was a dragon a life time ago. That’s all I can tell you.  If you want to know more, check the book out!
