Review:
Imagine you are Jewish living in 1942 when the holocaust was going on. You have just received a letter from the S.S. saying you would have to meet at a certain time in a certain building to line up to be sent off to a concentration camp. You immediately have to go into hiding to save yourself the risk of being killed. Along the way you must find a place to hide, supply most of your own food, and leave behind many of your most valuable things. Your life is always in danger so you must stay calm and quiet for you take the risk of being discovered.
This is what Anne Frank and her family had to do in The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank.     In this biography of Anne Frank she is a thirteen year old Jewish girl. She lives in Amsterdam, Holland with her parents and sister. She is a tall brown haired girl. She goes to a public school with Jewish and non-Jewish friends. She is interested in school, writing, boys, and reading. She is mostly like any teenage girl you would meet today.
Life changed for many Jewish families in 1942 when the Nazis occupied Holland. Some went into hiding and some were sent off to concentration camps. Anne Frank and her family were one of the Jewish families that went into hiding. The Franks went into hiding with another family called the Van Daans who had a sixteen year old son named Peter. During the two years that Anne Frank was in hiding she went through many emotional changes, an example of this is her relationship with Peter. Though Anne and Peter had a casual relationship with each other their feelings changed over time when they were in hiding. Anne and Peter were the youngest children in hiding and shared feelings of liking, fear, and hope.    If you would like to experience the life of a thirteen year old Jewish girl during World War ll than you should read The Diary of a Young Girl.
